Since the world has recently adjusted its view on natural medications and especially the beneficial hemp plant, many different products have suddenly appeared on the market. While it is undeniable that hemp and the cannabis family can provide many health benefits, getting the best benefits for your needs and stepping carefully around the potent psychoactive properties of this vegetable wonder will require a functioning knowledge of each product.

The hemp plant is truly a wonder of natural engineering and there are more benefits from the plant as a whole than can be mentioned in a single article. There are textiles, alternatives to conventional wood-fiber paper, beverages and more; but, it is the chemical substances created profusely by the cannabis family that holds the greatest interest to researchers today.

The many healthy oils and chemicals found in this plant are collected and provided to the public. Two of the most beneficial products (arguably) to be derived from hemp plants are CBD oils and Hemp Oils. While these two products hare a similar source, their benefits and properties couldn’t be more different. The following article will provide a clear perspective on the differences between these two all-natural health boosters.

CBD oils

CBD Oils

Within the cannabis plant are a variety of substances known as cannabinoids which have a very profound effect on the body’s own endocannabinoid system. Two of the most important cannabinoids in the cannabis plant are CBD (cannabidiol), the prime ingredient in CBD oils, and THC (tetrahydroxy cannabidiol), CBD’s crazy cousin.

CBD is not psychoactive like THC is and has been studied extensively for its plethora of health benefits.

Production of CBD Oils

CBD exists in all parts of the plant and can be taken from the leaves, stalks and buds. The plants cultivated for CBD oil production are selected for their high content of CBD, and a very low amount of THC.

Health Benefits of CBD

As mentioned, the body has an endocannabinoid system the exact purpose of which stills fascinates scientists today. Because this system is present in just about every other animal on the planate, even invertebrates, it must be very important. Some speculation states that this system works to adapt (evolve?) the body to better suit its surroundings.

Nevertheless, when CBD oils interact with the endocannabinoid system they have some very profound effects on the body. Treatment with CBD oils has benefited those afflicted with epilepsy and condition of the mind such as anxiety or depression. It is also a potent anti-inflammatory and used to treat arthritis, latent injuries and chronic pains. CBD oils also have special benefits for those dealing with irregular eating habits and trying to improve their digestion and nutrition.

You will also find CBD oils in a number of topical treatments for pains of the joints or muscles. The skin makes an effective barrier for CBD oils being absorbed through the skin and for this reason most topical CBD oils treatments suggest liberal applications.

THC traces

Because it is derived from the same plant, there may be some minuscule traces of THC in your CBD oils, but this will be far too small to affect your body and typically overpowered by the effects of the CBD oils.

The special strains of hemp are also selected for a high content of CBD and very low traces of THC. Production methods that are used for extracting THC oils are not well-suited to extracting THC cannabinoids and so you can expect the THC content of your CBD oils to be acceptably small.

Still, it is important to remember that many of these natural treatments and remedies are not tightly regulated by the USDA or any other regulatory board. For this reason, it is advisable to seek out well-reviewed providers who have gained much acclaim in their industry.

Hemp Oils

CBD oils

Unlike CBD oils that are found in small amounts throughout the hemp plant, hemp oils are taken from those fatty little seeds. The hemp seed is almost 50% oil and is easily extracted through conventional pressing technology that has existed for thousands of years. The oils from this seed are valued for their nutritional content and topical application rather than their medicinal properties.

Differences from CBD oil

While the seeds of the hemps plant carry small traces of CBD, it is far too small to lend any health benefits to hemp oils; the same holds true for any THC content.  But, hemp oils are high in Vitamin E, and Omega -6 and -3 fatty acids.

Health Benefits of Hemp Oil

Due to its pleasant flavor profile and high-nutrition content, hemp oils hole a place of honor in the culinary scene. With and earthy-nuttiness this oil makes a delicious base for salad dressings and can also be used as a conventional cooking oil.

Hemp oils are also beneficial to the skin and hair and therefore have seen plenty of application in the cosmetics and personal hygiene industry. With potent antioxidants, hemp oils work to protect the body from many carcinogens we are exposed to daily in this environment.

In conclusion, there are several important differences between these two all-natural and healthy products found on the market, make sure you know exactly what it is you are trying to treat before you begin your routines for better health. Finally, just because this is natural treatment does not preclude the need for medical advice in seeking out the best solutions to your conditions. Be sure to discuss your plans with a reputable member of the medical community.

  • I see CBD oil being talked about a lot for pain in Facebook groups but it’s expensive here in the UK. I use hemp oil a lot on my salads as I think it’s healthier that other oils because of it’s better omega 6 to omega 3 fatty acid ratio which is about 3:1. The diets of most people today contain a ratio of 10:1, or more. A high ratio of omega-6 to omega-3s is associated with numerous health problems, including cardiovascular disease, cancer, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. The diets of our ancestors were never this high in omega6 oils. Even meats these days are higher in omega 6 than 3 because of the diets they are fed for intensive rearing. Very sad!

  • hii sonal … !

    nice article …

  • Nice write up Sonal. I have a doubt about using oil. When you say about some oil is good , it is before heating right? Whatever my understanding is, after heating all oils are bad for health. especially for Indians it is very difficult since deep fry is part if food style.
