“Orange strengthens your emotional body, encouraging a general feeling of joy, well-being, and cheerfulness” – Tae Yun Kim
What’s a healthier lunchbox delight than a yummy, juicy orange, with its sweet and tangy flavor and easy-to-be peeled covering? One of the most common citrus fruits, oranges are generally available in winters. Known best for their vitamin C content, oranges are also referred to as the Golden Apple.
They make the wonderful snack and give a special dash to a variety of recipes. No wonder it is one of the most popular fruits. I love eating oranges for their energy-boosting effect.
Oranges offer plentiful benefits ranging from health to beauty. Let’s have a look at some of the benefits that oranges offer us:
1. Rich in Vitamin C
You may be aware of the fact that oranges are the best source of vitamin C. But do you know that they also contain wide variety of other nutrients such as fiber, thiamine, folate and potassium? You may be surprised to know that a single orange contains more than your daily requirement of vitamin C. So better have an orange a day!

The reason is that vitamin C in oranges helps in preventing skin damage. It contains antioxidants that keep a check on signs of aging. So all the gals there, oranges are good for your skin too!

The concentration of Vitamin A present in oranges keeps mucus membrane of the eyes healthy. Apart from that, it also plays a significant role in helping your eyes absorb the light.
6.Lowers the risk of heart disease
Yet another health advantage of oranges is that they prevent heart disease. This is also credited to its vitamin C intensity. Besides vitamin C, they also contain potassium that helps in the proper functioning of heart. As they are rich in soluble fiber, oranges help in lowering the cholesterol level thus preventing blockage of the arteries.
7.Great for diabetics
It is considered that oranges are not good for diabetics. Absolutely wrong! Infact the content of fibre present in them keep a check on sugar level, thus preventing diabetes. So this is the best option for diabetics to satisfy their taste buds as they are not allowed to eat sweet things.
8.Protects your hair
Vitamin C contained in oranges produce collagen which strengthens your hair tissues. I guess no one would like to have bald patches on his or her head. So if you love your hair and don’t want to lose them as you grow old, make sure that you eat oranges.
9.Prevents Cancer
According to the researchers, oranges contain compound called D – limonene, a compound that plays an imperative role in reducing the risk of different types of cancer such as lung cancer, breast cancer, skin cancer, etc. So by eating just one orange a day you can reduce the risk of having cancer upto 50%.

It may come as a surprise to many of you that oranges improve the sperm quality and thus keeps a person fertile. This is due to the great amount of Vitamin C present in them. Apart from this, the folic acid present in them prevents the sperms from hereditary damage, thus keeping them healthy.
