Vivo launched its new selfie-focused Vivo V5 in India on Tuesday. The smartphone is priced at Rs. 17,980 and it will be available at the retail stores across the country starting November 26. The Vivo V5 is successor to the Vivo V3, and it comes with decent upgrades, mainly in the camera.
The new Vivo V5 comes with an all metal body with rounded corners. As according to the previously launched Vivo lineup, it is also offering a HiFi audio output. The device comes with a 5.5-inches HD IPS display having a resolution of 1280*720 pixels and a 2.5D Gorilla Glass laid on top for extra protection. It measures 153.8×75.5×7.55mm and 154g weights.
The Vivo V5 has been launched in two colour options – Space Grey and Crown Gold. Vivo claims that the V5 is the world’s first smartphone to sport a 20-megapixel front camera sensor paired with a selfie flash. Also, the Vivo V5 is the first smartphone from the Chinese company to make its global debut in India.
At the Vivo V5 smartphone launch event in Mumbai on Tuesday, the Vivo’s Chief Marketing Officer Vivek Zhang confirmed that another model, called the Vivo V5 Plus, will be launched in the country soon. The only thing we know about the Plus variant so far is that it will have dual front cameras.
Now let’s have a look at the features of this smartphone.
Vivo V5 has 4GB of RAM & 32GB (expandable upto 128GB using microSD card) of ROM running with 1.5GHz octa-core processor. The best part of this smartphone is its camera.
V5 has 13MP rear camera while 20MP front facing selfie camera which works in even low light. The smartphone have Face beauty 6.0 app already installed in it. Looks like a decent smartphone for photography also.
This smartphone runs on latest Android OS, v6.0.1 (Marshmallow). Also, V5 has a 5.5 Inch HD IPS display (720×1280 pixels).
It comes with water proof fingerprint sensor embedded below the home button, able to unlock within 0.2 second. The smartphone is powered by 3000mAh battery including high connectivity options in it.

The GSM powered handset is driven by a powerful 64-bit MediaTek MT6750 octa-core processor clocked at 1.8GHz.
On the software end, the device runs on the Android 6.0 based Marshmallow operating system. For the storage, it houses a 32GB of inbuilt storage, which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card slot expansion and coupled with 4GB of RAM.

The main Unique Selling Point (USP) of the smartphone is its camera. The Vivo V5 camera section is equipping a 20MP selfie-snapper at the front end on the board for taking the perfect selfies in HD with excellent picture quality. On the other hand, it has a 13-megapixel camera at the rear end of the back panel. The front camera features a soft light LED flash.
V5 is packed with the 3000mAh battery. The Vivo V5 comes with a fast fingerprint sensor, which is integrated into the home button for unlocking the device quickly.
In the Connectivity options, the V5 includes an AK4376 Hi-Fi audio chip, 4G VoLTE, 3G WCDMA, 2G GSM, Wi-Fi, GPS, GLONASS, Light, Accelerometer, Proximity, as well as E-compass sensor.

This does sound great but I still think that nothing beats the iPhone 6s camera quaity, does it? But we hope that this one really emerges out as a great smartphone because a perfect selfie camera is what the young generation is looking for
