Do you ever wonder how many people stay fit even though they consume huge amounts of food? This is the result of their consuming great amount of metabolism boosting foods.

What is metabolism?

Metabolism is a process of burning calories in your body. It converts the food you eat into energy. Whenever you eat, drink or are involved in any kind of activity, your body keeps burning the calories and this is because of your metabolism. So, if you want to lose weight in a healthy and effortless way, maintain a diet plan which includes few vegetarian metabolism boosting foods.

Most of the people who are trying to lose their weight do so by skipping their meals or eating less. But still the final result is nil. The reason behind this is that their body metabolic rate drops down and hence burns fewer calories. Metabolic rate of the body increases when you follow a proper diet and workouts. To increase your metabolic rate, the foods which you eat play a very important role. So, always select foods which will enhance your metabolic rate.

Ditch your strict eating routine and give your metabolism a boost by eating. Yes, by eating! Just by consuming certain metabolism boosting foods and drinks, you can give your body a kick-start in calorie burning, and speed up that seemingly slow metabolism of yours.

That being said, you can’t just eat anything. Christina Major, A MS Holistic Nutritionist and Herbalist and the Health Recovery Expert of Crystal Holistic Health, explains, “For most people, processed foods, breads, pastas and grains are foods that block a properly functioning metabolism.”

  • Hi Sonal, with a list of delicious foods like that there is no excuse for not being able to lose weight and to stay healthy. I have to say that I am surprised you included peanuts. According to many authorities they can slow metabolism. I would prefer to eat almonds as they are less likely to be contaminated with aflatoxin, the mold that can damage the good bacteria in your gut.

  • Hi Sonal, I am not a vegetarian but I follow a lot of information regarding the best things vegetarians are advised to use in place of foods they no longer eat. I found your list interesting and of course chocolate was my easiest transition to make. Apple cider vinegar I take it right from the spoon I am so used to it been using for years. Chia seeds I started putting in my food and smoothies this year. It threw me off when they turned into this gel like pebble but I’m ok with it now. Nice post I will incorporate some of the other items you have on this list.
