The ‘Don’ of Bollywood industry Amitabh Bachchan was also present at the Eden Gardens. He continually motivated Team India in such a crucial match against Pakistan.

Amitabh Bachchan expressed his feelings on his blog:

“The roar of victory, in battle in sport or in life, can possess your being in an almost ritualistic euphoric ecstasy.”

“I am a frightened being tonight! For, I am possessed with the spirit of victory over an adversary that has rivaled us through many generations now, separated sadly by an invisible earth bearing line, drawn by aliens to the region, but responsible for it, or tasked for it, by the historical anomaly of colonialism”, he added.

The actor also sang the national anthem before the match began. He said that he felt honoured and privileged for this opportunity given to him. The actor was overwhelmed with joy as he raised the National Flag.
